Welcome back to another issue of The Denham Springs Local.
This weather we’ve had this past week has been amazing! Got some yard work done and finally got inspired to wash mine and my wife’s cars haha.
But knowing South Louisiana, we’ll probably move straight into summer next month so enjoy while you can.
Another note: Since starting this newsletter, I’ve realized just how much really goes on around town. And I think it’s way too much for a single weekly newsletter. I haven’t decided exactly how to handle this yet, but I don’t want to just overload a single email with tons of events. So I think for now I’m going to include main events, things that interest me personally, truly unique events, and enough other stuff to keep it interesting; especially on busier weeks. But I won’t let you down!

I’ve honestly never heard of First Friday before. Is this a new thing? I’ve seen a few businesses mention it this week but honestly never heard of it before. Guess I’ll add this to the Ongoing events section.

Presented by Lagniappe Disc Golf. Free clinic covering the basics. No equipment needed and a free disc for new players and free food!
I haven’t played in years but this sounds pretty fun. My dad was actually a pro back in the 80s/90s and I was out there playing with him when I was 2 years old.
Jewelry With a Twist! @ The Potter’s Path

Learn a simple wrap for a quartz point or slice. There will be a couple different stones to choose from as well. $50 per person.

Learn Martial Arts @ The Play District

20 minutes of martial arts fun led by Miss Garrison from Garrison’s Martial Arts. Beginner-friendly session for little movers helping them build confidence, coordination, focus, and self-control in a playful, encouraging environment. Included as part of the regular 2 hour play session and completely optional.
