Linda's Chicken & Fish

Apparently Linda's has been run by the same family in Watson since 1978.

We lived in north Denham for a while and I'd end up out there every so often. Never often enough, looking back.

I pretty much always got the catfish. Right size, good batter, cooked right. That's harder to find than it should be.

They do more than fish though. Fried chicken, shrimp poboys, roast beef poboys, seafood dinners. Google's got them listed as Linda's Chicken Hut for some reason, so don't let that throw you if you look it up.

Been a while since I've been. Might have to fix that this week.

An intro night for girls who aren't Girl Scouts yet. Dance party at the Serenity Center out on Hwy 16, with folks there to answer questions about joining a troop.

John Paycheck, son of Johnny Paycheck, out at Southern Rhythm on Hwy 16. Tickets required.

Sat 8/29, 10am-10pm

All-day crafting session in the Antique Village. Bring your scrapbook layouts, cards, junk journals, whatever you've been meaning to finish. $40 gets you a reserved spot, a work table, coffee and snacks, and door prizes throughout the day.

Sat 8/29, 3-6pm

Free open play, meet the coaches, and a school supply drive. Crumbl, Andy's, and HotWorx will be out there too. Bring an item from the supply list if you want to pitch in.

Sat 8/29, 6pm

Ten years of the Fallen Riders Foundation, honoring Spazz and Google for what they've put into the local motorcycle community. Live music, food, and a raffle drawing over on Chestnut St.

Wednesdays at 6:30pm

Line Dancing every Wednesday night starting at 6:30 pm in the Crown Room.

Guided hand building, ceramic painting, good company and a moment to create something unique with your own hands. Coffee, tea, water, and snacks available. 21+ can B.Y.O.B. (please enjoy responsibly). This is a drop-in event, so there's no need to book a specific time. Just come in when you're available!

3rd Sunday every month at 9am

Breakfast at the Way Church. Everyone is welcome, so this will be an awesome chance to invite your neighbors, friends, and family for a morning of good food and good fellowship followed by some good worship about a great God!
