SHOUTOUT OF THE WEEK
Cavalier House Books
This week's shoutout goes to Cavalier House Books, right in the heart of the antique district.
We've taken our daughter to a couple of their story time and craft events, and they were a hit. And while the kiddo’s busy, my wife is perfectly happy just wandering the shelves. They carry new and used books, so there's always something to dig through.
The owners started the business back in 2005, planning it between classes in the computer lab at Southeastern. Then opened a physical store in 2009, made it through the 2016 flood like the rest of us, and in 2022 moved a few doors down into a building twice the size. Today it's one of the best-known independent bookstores in Louisiana, and it's right here in Denham Springs.
They always have fun events and book clubs going on and have earned a permanent spot in the “Ongoing” section of this newsletter.
